Concordian International School

Concordian International School delivers an international curriculum in three languages, Chinese (Mandarin), English and Thai. The two target languages are Mandarin and English. The classroom environment is geared to an inquiry approach to learning and encourages 'hands-on' investigations, independent learning and the development of critical and creative thinking. All core subjects are taught through the medium of Chinese and English while students are also taught to read, write and speak the Thai language. Teachers at the school deliver the curriculum in their mother tongue and currently come from the United States, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, England and Thailand. At the heart of Concordian International School is exploring with the students aims to promote academic excellence, but of equal importance is the nurturing of students to become moral and intellectual leaders.

Founded in August 2001, the school comprises a nursery class, kindergarten 1, 2 and 3, grades one to five. A secondary school will be added in August 2004. Eventually, the school plans to offer all three programmes of the International Baccalaureate Organization.

Concordian International School operates on the site of the Thana City leisure centre, a clean, safe environment for children. The school occupies two buildings within the clubhouse. These house several fully equipped classrooms and specialist rooms, an activities room administrative offices, a staff lounge, newly appointed library, cafeteria as well as a gymnasium. Extensive grounds frame two adventure playgrounds and two swimming pools, one Olympic sized and the other designed for very young children. The school site is adjacent to a well-maintained and professionally designed golf course.

Concordian International School offers a broad range of sporting and creative after school activities which include golf instruction byprofessiona1s. Swimming lessons are available to all students.
